Who can run a retail store best?
A large Canadian retailer needed a better way of selecting store managers. The old system—promoting department managers who practiced good housekeeping and filed timely reports—was unreliable.
Knightsbridge recommended the client use Predictor to assess store managers. Our team used the resulting data and actual store performance to create a custom profile that most closely correlated with high store sales and profits. To no one’s surprise, previously unmeasured characteristics—including an ability and appetite for engaging customers—topped the list.
The retailer now has a validated tool for choosing who will best run its stores—and for identifying employees to be groomed to become managers needed for planned growth.
