In group downsizing situations, good transition planning and process begins well in advance of the announcement. Knightsbridge works closely with senior management to plan major restructuring initiatives. We have experience with companies of all sizes, in public and private sectors, in response to: mergers and acquisitions, North American and global consolidations, corporate re-organizations; declining sales or profits, cost pressures and facility relocations.
Pre-announcement day, we can help you in the restructuring planning and implementation process, which can include:
Organizational reviews;
Development of criteria to evaluate personnel;
Severance package review;
Logistics, security and contingency planning;
Management training for delivering the message;
Communications review or development;
Decision making workshops if voluntary separation programs are provided;
Change management workshops if employees are aware of impending changes; and
All aspects of establishing a career transition centre.
On announcement day we are available to provide on-site support to both management and departing employees by:
Helping them understand and deal with the news they’ve just received;
Ensuring a professional, dignified exit;
Providing information on Knightsbridge’s services and advising on next steps; and
Providing reaction reports within 24 hours of meeting with terminated individuals.
Post-termination we:
Support the remaining employees through workshops on change management and organization re-vitalization;
Manage all aspects of a career transition centre, including consulting services, workshops, research support and all administrative responsibilities;
Deliver individual and group programs; and
Provide on-going reporting and deal with customer and client issues as they arise.
Other value added services that may benefit the organization include, but are not limited to:
Support to those individuals remaining with the organization following any large downsizing activity.
Coping with Change and Stress following an announcement relating to significant pending change in the organization.
“Leading through Change” workshops to help supervisors and managers in maintaining productivity.
Career Self Reliance and Mentorship programs designed to assist employees to take control of their careers and to train managers to help manage this process.
Decision making workshops to assist employees to make decisions regarding self selection in the event of voluntary leaving or early retirement programs.
Team Building programs following a department or organization restructuring.
All of these programs can be presented in workshop format and range from one to three days.
